Kishen, a gifted classical shehnai musician, is in love with Gopi. Their union, however, is oppsed by Gopi's mother, Jamuna and Kishen's teacher, Raghunath. Raghunath goes on to marry Gopi, and Kishen drowns his sorrows in alcohol
