Item Description:Soon after the battles, Amos Doolittle and Ralph Earl, soldiers in the Governor's Second Company of Guards, interviewed participants in the battles and viewed and sketched the scenes of the battles. Earl, a painter, and Doolittle, a New Haven silversmith, then collaborated in designing Earl's paintings of the events, which Doolittle then engraved and printed
