Papers on 6th 25:A include a typescript of "The History of Porgy: or the Peregrinations of a Goat Cart," a paper concerning Samuel Smalls of Charleston, S.C., who was the prototype of the hero of Gershwin's "Porgy and Bess." This work was originally conceived as a paper for Professor Hubbell's class at the University of Virginia, 1954-55; also five pieces of correspondence regarding the article.
