Summary:Economist Peter Blair Henry was born on July 30, 1969 in Kingston, Jamaica. He graduated in 1991 with his B.A. degree in economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. A Rhodes scholar, he received his B.A. degree in mathematics in 1993 from Oxford University. Henry earned his Ph.D. degree in economics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1997. In 1997, Henry joined the faculty at Stanford University's Graduate School of Business. In 2005, he became the first African American to receive tenure at GSB. He served on President Obama's transition team for review of international lending agencies in 2008. In 2009, he was appointed to the President's Commission on White House Fellowships. In 2010, Henry became Dean of New York University's Leonard N. Stern School of Business, the school's youngest and first African American dean. In 2013, he published Turnaround: Third World Lessons for First World Growth
