Description
Summary:In this short video, George Kuchar visits fellow underground filmmaker Robert Nelson in Milwaukee, where together they brave the cold winds of Lake Michigan. George Kuchar was one of the most prolific American independent film and videomakers. With his homemade Super 8 and 16mm potboilers and melodramas of the 1950s, ’60s, and ’90s, he became legendary as a subversively outrageous underground filmmaker whose work influenced directors such as Andy Warhol, John Waters and David Lynch. After his transition to video, he remained a master of genre manipulation creating hundreds of hilarious and often diaristic videos with a camcorder, and dime-store props, while using friends and students as actors
