Description
Summary:Atmospheric drama based on a chilling true story of serial killer Peter Manuel and Detective William Muncie's struggle to bring him to justice. Over two years he murdered eight people in an area less than a twenty six mile round trip by car, traumatising the tight knit communities of South Lanarkshire. Manuel evaded capture for so long because he was unlike anything the local police had ever encountered. He was a murderer without any discernible motive whose victims were chosen at random. William Muncie was one policeman who was determined that he would finally get this man.The day after Isabelle Cooke disappears, Manuel hands himself in to Muncie with an alibi for his movements of the previous twenty four hours. Four days later Peter and Doris Smart and their twelve year old son are shot dead in their beds, but the murderer makes a mistake. He steals. Muncie tells his team that Manuel has never mixed killing with stealing and if they can tie him to the theft they have got him. After his arrest Manuel points out to Muncie he can only be done for stealing; they don't have anything on him for the deaths. What Muncie needs is a full confession
