Images of Jerusalem show city walls, gates, towers, and holy sites, including the Western Wall, Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Mount of Olives, and Gethsemane. Images of Lebanon depict the temple ruins at Baalbek. General and detail views show hieroglyphics and sculpture on ancient Egyptian temples and obelisks at Karnak, Thebes, the island of Philae, and Nubia; other images of Egypt include views of the pyramids and Great Sphinx at Giza; scenes of Cairo, its streets, mosques, and Northern Cemetery tombs; and a group portrait of "Egyptian Fellaheen." Some images of Algiers show the Casbah and interior views of a mosque, palace, and Moorish house; images of Syria include interior views of Christian and Jewish houses in Damascus. Images of Sicily include tombs, temple ruins, and Catholic cloisters, churches, and catacombs
